Thanksgiving break
I flew halfway across the country today and then drove for another seven hours just to celebrate the only holiday that’s honest about not having any significance other than going into a terminal food coma. Posts will be sketchy between now and Monday.
Happy Turkey Day! Remember, if you don’t hate Obama, you aren’t a real American!

Here are some comments from an USWeekly “exclusive” about how Angelina Jolie “hates” Barack Obama:
November 24, 2009 - 1:50pm Donna P. Says:
Good for her! It is nice to a Hollywood actress standing up for her political convictions.

Republicans facing "purity tests" to keep party... →
This is by far the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a while, and that includes yesterday’s Sarah Palin t-shirt. The cult of GOP is starting to turn REAL scary.
I’ve documented their unnatural obsession with reanimating the corpse of Ronald Reagan, but sadly, according to this article, Reagan would fail the new “purity test.”

– “Mary Ann” in response to this entry from the LA Times’ political blog Top of the Ticket.”
The author of Top of the Ticket is actually fairly conservative, which is why he penned this tongue-in-cheek line:
“Not that (the approval ratings) matter politically because...

criminally-vulgar:
An anti-sex website that promotes homophobia, sexism and a bunch of other similarly fuzzy things. The absolute exclusion of the idea that girls / women might actually enjoy sex, the disgusting request that women should ignore their education, personal development and career in order to ‘produce’ more babies and statements like “The rectum is an exit, not an entrance” make this...

Fox News: It's OK to publish pictures of runners,... →
A lovely slideshow from Fox News entitled “Hollywood’s Hottest Runners” with candid photos of celebs out jogging. On Teri Hatcher: “The active actress is only desperate for one thing: a slamming body. “
Oh, but it’s only sexism when liberals do it, right?
In one day I met a role model, and met the liberal media and their crafty...
– “Jackie,” a 17-year-old fan interviewed by MSNBC at Palin’s book signing.
Isn’t “a ‘gotcha’ question” a Palinism? Barf. I don’t understand how young people can be conservative. Also, “buffoon?”
Conservatives really need to stop...

(Newser) – The geniuses who wrote Texas’ gay marriage ban may have accidentally banned all marriage in the state, according to one Houston lawyer. Subsection B of the ban, a constitutional amendment ratified in 2005, states, “This state…may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to...

On the House floor yesterday, Representative Foxx tried to claim that the GOP were the driving force behind both the environmental and the civil rights movement. This so incensed Dennis Cardoza (D-CA) that he replied with the following;
CARDOZA: Today, what I’m hearing on the floor really takes the cake. The gentlelady from North Carolina, in her statement...

Sarah Palin angered by 'sexist' Newsweek cover →
It’s a picture she took for a magazine… and she’s mad that it’s appearing in a magazine?
Also I like how Yahoo! News is like “well, ‘sexist’ cover”… even they think she’s full of shit.

– Sarah Palin: not anti-abortion enough, according to the new report from the American Right to Life.

“The teabaggers are getting ready for the next round of wingnuttery against the Obama administration. It sure looks like they lost on health-care reform, but they have already been organized for a long time around the issue of immigration, so they are ready and rarin’ to go careening off the far-right cliff.” - David Neiwert for CrooksandLiars.com.
