I'm super tired so this might be a bit jumbled.
I'm a devout Muslim and I wear hijab, full sleeves, and full pants. I don't wear burqa or the face covering (niqab), however. But I can completely understand it being a security issue and I know that most women would probably be cool with showing their face to another women for ID purposes. It becoming a ban though is where I call bs. And it's the same here. We have to give names and numbers of people who are allowed to pick kids up from school.
Anyways, I give you props for always being open minded to all arguments and being awesome on this blog. :D
Thank you so much for your input. Like I said, I hadn’t really thought about the issue before, and was hoping some Muslim women would give us some insight.
And I agree - I think child care workers should be able to identify a parent or guardian, but that it doesn’t mean the burqa/niqab should be banned altogether.
