go-to-my-other-blog asked: Hey man, you're speaking of 'straight white cis people' like we're all a bunch on Mitt Romney guys sitting on a bag of $100 bills and smoking cigars. A lot of these 'privileged' people are oppressed in other ways (economically, etc.) It's just as wrong to stereotype a whole group as oppressive or privileged as it is to stereotype gay people or black people.

Being unprivileged in things like class does NOT undo the privilege you have from your race/gender/etc. Again, AGAIN: when you see someone say, “I hate it when [privileged] people do X,” and you think “hey, don’t do X,” chances are they don’t mean you.

  4. danishmodernlady said: If you don’t need to think about your race or gender/gender presentation or sexual orientation on a daily basis in terms of how people interact with you, then you’re privileged in those areas. Doesn’t mean you can’t lack privilege in other areas.
