Submitted by C., who says: “So I did some research because this seems ridiculous, and of course, there are some inaccuracies (shocker). 1. It only weighed 350 pounds, 30 of which was honey from the White House beehive. It is also not all chocolate, just gingerbread dipped in white chocolate. 2. It was made by the White House kitchen, meaning the labor was already paid for and only materials were a cost. 3. The gingerbread house is not for a party but on display for the entire month of December for White House visitors. 4. None of the parties (that I found anyway) are personal parties.
